If you've encountered this message in your inbox, the email you're trying to read was likely sent to an address other than your own.
Virtru emails can only be decrypted by the specific email address to which they're sent. If an email is sent to an alias address*, a group address*, or forwarded*** to you by another user, you won't be able to decrypt this message. Virtru will detect that you are not the intended recipient and deny access.
*Google G Suite domains who have installed Virtru at the domain level will be able to send aliases and groups. If you have Virtru installed at the G Suite level and encounter this error, your admin must refresh your domain’s information with Virtru by clicking “Refresh Now” on the Overview page of the Virtru Dashboard.
***If the email was forwarded with Virtru enabled, and you're also a Virtru user, you'll have access to the message. If the email was forwarded with Virtru turned off, you won't have access.
